ADDONIS PARKER / PAINTER / MURALIST

Addonis Parker’s work tells a story.  His is a witness.  There is no mistaking that his viewpoint is hewn by experiences as an African-American.  His works are like visual literature that captures both the shape and the passion of the subjects he selects.  His work does not succumb to the urge to create art based on mainstream notions of aesthetics.  Addonis’ works goes against the grain and trends of abstract concepts, the use of sanctioned media, like oils, acrylics or charcoal.  His work sets him apart as a witness of the culture, painting what is good, beautiful, as well as social issues. All is an expression of his love for African-American life.  He provides a medium for preserving the often-complex reality of choosing life and its challenges rather than its alternatives. He records this love with brush, self-made wood panels and his choice of medium, house paint, Behr paint to be exact.  He is an excellent portrait artist.

WANDA PAULETTE HARRIS / PAINTER / PORTRAIT ARTIST / MURALIST

Wanda Paulette is quite comfortable with the fact that she is one of a few contemporary female cubist painters, "which in itself is a struggle." Clearly defined, is her intent and deep emotions brushed over the naked canvases or wood panels Wanda paints. Completed are scenes that depict the human psyche's pleasures and perplexities. She paint and defiantly exhibits Realism, Expressionism and Cubism simultaneously. Her work displays the catholic span of her creativity and talent. Her work flashes with deep, rich and vibrant pigments. She is a self-taught artist who has read numerous books, manuals and documentaries on the lives and works of the masters, art history, art law, and the business of art.  The latter, in her opinion, is the most important area of study and pursuit. "After the paint dries, art becomes a business."

Wanda is deeply inspired by the work, life and struggle of the African American Artists of the Harlem Renaissance era. "They gave the world something to remember, something beautiful and dynamic.  There are no excuses for failure, there is only success at whatever cost. As African Diaspora artists we must create our own venues, understand the art of self-promotion, view art as a business, and seize the day."

WINSOME BOLT / ARTIST / CURATOR / EDUCATOR

In addition to her artistic efforts, Ms. Bolt teaches various classes for all ages on Miami Beach and Overtown.  She is currently designing the Range Funeral Home while preparing for upcoming exhibitions.  Her formal education includes various degrees which range from Early Childhood Education to Fine Art/Fashion.

"I am Winsome Bolt, daughter of Jamaica, citizen of the world. As an artist, my creative process begins with an interior space that needs to be re-imagined. I analyze structures, textures, colors, and trending themes to bring forth a new space that suits the needs of each project. Everything is new with trials and tribulations which contribute to the inspiration and thus affect the entire process. At my core, I am meant to develop what I see in my dreams and bring it forth to life. This is done through interior design, painting, exhibitions, or classes. My greatest joy in life is seeing the happiness that art as an experience brings to others. It is the greatest change agent that I know."
